4-star Arctic Igloo Resort on Lake Ranuanjärvi

Location

Ranua Resort Arctic Igloos sits on the tranquil shores of Lake Ranuanjärvi, away from city lights, allowing for a peaceful experience under the night sky. The igloo village is thoughtfully arranged in two rows to provide views of the scenic lake. This remote location offers guests a unique vantage point for stargazing and observing the Northern Lights.

Rooms

The hotel offers glass igloos, designed to enhance the Arctic experience, featuring a kitchenette, sauna, shower, and toilet for convenience. Twin Igloos accommodate 1-2 persons, while Lake side Igloos cater to families with a maximum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children. Each igloo boasts a spacious 36 m2 layout with heated glass panels that maintain clear views year-round.

Wellness

Each igloo includes a private sauna, allowing guests to relax and rejuvenate after a day of exploration in the Arctic wilderness. The unique setting provides an opportunity to unwind while enjoying panoramic views. This wellness aspect enhances the overall comfort of the stay.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Lake side Igloos accommodate families up to four, making it a suitable choice for parents traveling with children. The hotel offers amenities that cater specifically to younger guests, ensuring families can enjoy quality time together. Children under 14 years can experience the wonders of Arctic nature right from their igloo.

The convenience of in-room kitchenette facilities enables guests to prepare meals during their stay. This setup allows for a seamless integration of culinary experiences within the unique setting of the igloos.

Highlights

Location: quiet shore of lake Ranuanjärvi

Rooms: glass igloos with panoramic views

Wellness: private sauna within each igloo

Family-Friendly: Lake side Igloos accommodating families

“The glass igloos are undeniably alluring, promising unobstructed views of the Finnish sky, along with private saunas for relaxation. However, being away from Rovaniemi, activities are less accessible. I think that relying on the on-site dining is limiting, given reports about its quality.”
